Chicago has been blessed early fall with sunny days and cool breezes that are perfect for an outdoor outing! Our Residents had the opportunity to soak up the last of this good weather at a Chicago staple attraction—the Lincoln Park Zoo!
Our first stop of the day was the Lion House followed by the Primate House, where our Residents got face to face with some of God’s amazing creations. Later that afternoon, Residents got to watch quite the chaotic penguin feeding, where the zookeepers fed the zoo’s 27 penguins at once!
One of the highlights of the day was exploring the Africa House. Residents got to see exotic birds, adorable pygmy hippos, and sweet meerkats that practically posed for pictures. We were so captivated by the meerkats that we were completely taken by surprise when we spotted Lincoln Park Zoo’s two breathtaking giraffes, Rae and Finley! As Residents rushed to capture photos, one of the zookeepers approached us and shared some fun facts while answering all our questions.
We decided to end our exciting day by relaxing and watching the seal show. The trainers shared fascinating details about how they care for these majestic creatures while giving us the chance to watch them show off their impressive tricks!
It was a wonderful day filled with sunshine, laughter, learning, and plenty of unforgettable animal encounters. Our Residents had a fantastic time enjoying one of Chicago’s most beloved attractions!
