We had quite the Monster Mash at this year’s Halloween party at St. Mary’s Home! In the weeks leading up to the celebration, department staff were given pumpkins to decorate for the pumpkin decorating contest. These wacky pumpkins featured a variety of creative ideas from creatures of the night to Mr. Monopoly, and some of the pumpkins even had elaborate scenes to go with them! Residents were able to snack on cupcakes, pizza, and listen to the greatest hits of Halloween music while voting on which pumpkin was their favorite.
Later on, we had a contest for best costume where our residents got to clap and cheer for their favorites! Some of our personal favorites included a queen and her king (her dog dresses as a king, actually), Elliott and E.T. from E.T., a ghost, and even a new Little Sister!
Finally, we were blessed with a visit from the students and faculty from St. Josaphat School. Students gleefully paraded through our parking lot in colorful and creative costumes for trick-or-treating. Sisters and Residents handed out candy by the handful, and the children couldn’t wait to chow down on sweets.
It was truly a spook-tacular time! Happy Halloween from all of us at St. Mary’s Home!
