On Saturday March 8, trivia lovers put on their thinking caps in preparation for Travinia! This special event combines the energy and vibe of the freewheeling pub trivia game with the laidback attitude of Ravinia, the famous music venue in suburban Highland Park that encourages audiences to bring a picnic and spread out on the lawn.
From the brainiacs to the “know-it-all,” spirited contestants filled our auditorium for this “cabin fever reliever” to say goodbye to the dreary winter blues.
As guests entered the brightly decorated auditorium, they were able to get a taste of the event by testing their knowledge on our trivia wall. Guests were encouraged to BYOB—Bring Your Own (Picnic) Basket (and Bring Your Own Brains!)—for a night of fun. Trivia Master Rex kept the good vibes going with upbeat tunes as both teams and Sisters marshaled their brain power to think hard on some tricky trivia questions.
First place winners, “The Whiz Kids,” took home the gold—and by that we mean Starbucks gift cards, but that’s one in the same. Along with competing for both bragging rights as well as the grand prize, prizes were also given out for the quirkiest team name. This year’s best team name came with a shout-out to our Home’s Mother Margaret: “Mother Knows Best!”
